At times when going through a hectic day, you imagine you feel hunger but if truth be told you just need a restorative tumbler of water or cranberry juice. The feelings of hunger and thirst are quite alike, but one can result in weight gain and the alternative is fine.

* Use splenda instead of sugar. Most recipes that require sugar can be adapted to make use of a good substitute like splenda. It is not exactly the same so you will need to experiment a little and it might not work in every case, but it does bake up nice once you have it cracked.

The onion family is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Even though there is very little scientific evidence obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought to help with antiinflammatory effect, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be a part of every diet system.
