Baking Cakes

Whether you are planning on baking bread, pies, muffins or cookies, you find baking recipes here to entice you.

If you want your birthday cake, pastry or biscuits to cook perfectly, remember to preheat oven for at least 10 to 15 minutes before starting to bake. Position pans as near to center of oven as possible. Always place your baking pans so that they do not touch the sides of oven or each other.

If you want to keep your reputation as a culinary genius, remember to always use the best ingredients. Always use the best chocolate, luxury fruit fillings, premium nuts etc. Always use the freshest eggs, and use butter instead of margarine.

If your baking powder is getting old, one way to check if it still usable is by adding a small amount to very hot water. If you see bubbling and fizzing, then it is OK to use for your baking. If you're are planning on chopping nuts in your food processor, use a small amount of the flour specified in the recipe, it keeps the nuts from sticking together..
