Hummus (Chick Pea Dip) Recipe
Recipe Ingredients
2 cup chick peas, drained (canned or fresh
2/3 cup tahina paste (ground sesame seeds)
3/4 cup lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, mashed
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cumin
1 parsley, for garnish
Recipe Preparation
1. Place chick peas, tahina, lemon juice, garlic, salt and cumin in
food processor.
2. Mix until smooth.
3. Place in a jar and refrigerate.
Just before serving sprinkle chopped parsley on top.
Add more garlic if dessired. If you want this thinner to serve as a
dip, add more lemon juice.

Diet tipsAt the start of a diet, people most certainly look at food store and big brand food items labelled 'low in fat'. To do this is far too often a miscalculation, in that an item could be significantly reduced in fats, but nevertheless elavated in calories and carbs.

* Fiber is crucial Decreasing the carbohydrates in your diet usually leads to reduction in fiber also. Look at low carb recipes that are rich in fiber to restore the balance.
* Food labels can be misleading Watch out for food packaging that boasts to be 'low carb' - check the nutritional information figures on the back of the product. Many are only marginally less and in some instances still greater than a competitors normal brand. Also, beware of 'low sugar' and 'low fat' labels - 'low sugar' does not always mean 'low carb' - often the carbs are just the same.

The flavonoids which exist in these fruits and vegetables are thought to have properties in fighting cancer.
Doctors investigating the nutritional effects of flavonoids think that they may well also have most other healthy benefits, including, but not limited to, anti-allergic and antioxidant properties.
The majority of these are also low in calories, so you should add them to your diet system.
