Food Tips of the Week
Weight loss hints and tipsIn planning a meal plan, the most important step is to make efforts to lower your intake of fat, salt and refined carbohydrates.
The case against reduced carb diets
Its all the rage, but it is really safe for you?
Whilst there is anecdotal evidence that suggests that reduced carb diets can help achieve weight loss, some of this considerable evidence has resulted in much debate between nutritionalists, and their safety has been challenged
Eating more animal-based products may lead into high consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol, which many authorities believe will increase the chance of heart conditions.
Foods containing allyl sulfides
( includes garlic, leeks and welsh onion)
The onion and garlic family of foods is rich in allyl sulfides, a chemical which experts believe could be linked to a reduced risk of stomach and colon cancer.
Although there is precious little hard medical proof obtainable, allyl sulphides are also thought by nutritionalists to reduce the symptoms of colds, arteriosclerosis and fatigue.
Foods containing allyl sulfides are also low in calories, so should be included in your diet system.
