Food Tips of the Week
Losing weightRather than thinking about which food types you really should leave out of your meal plan, focus on the nutritionally sound foods that you are able to introduce to your meal plan. If you manage to inject some nourishing grains and vegetables into your daily routine, you'll soon see that stop feeling hungry and have a significantl;y decreased risk of giving in to those damaging midday snacks.
Some lower carb diet pointers:
* Make reduced carb breadcrumbs for deep fried foods. Although you can probably buy reduced carbohydrate bread crumbs, you can also make them by using reduced carbohydrate bread. All you have to do is toast the reduced carbohydrate bread in a gas or electric oven on a cookie sheet. Once it is hard, whizz it in the food processor using a coarse blade. Keep in an airtight container.
* Make great smoothies by using reduced carb yogurt. Yes, its not technically cooking, but if you adore smoothies you can make them with reduced carb yogurt and your favorite fruit. Clearly, you will need to make sure you only make use of fruit that is low in carbohydrates and use all of the fruit as the fiber is important too.
The brassicas, Healthy superfoods that aid Weight loss
(includes Kale, Lettuce, Mustard greens and Rutabaga)
Altthough not always popular with children, these vegetables are jam-packed with vitamins (including vitamin c and folate), minerals (selenium and potassium, for example), fibre, chlorophyll, antioxidents, isothiocyanates, and indole-3-carbinol.
Over and above their numerous other beneficial effects, the isothiocyanates in these are thought by experts to significantly lower the risk of getting cancer.
