Afelia (Braised Pork With Coriander) Recipe
Recipe Ingredients
1 karen mintzias
750 g pork fillet, leg or loin
1/4 cup butter
500 g new potatoes, peeled
250 g small mushrooms
1 cup red wine
1 salt
1 freshly ground black pepper
2 tsp crushed coriander seeds
Recipe Preparation
Cut pork into approximately 3 cm (1-1/4 inch) pieces leaving some fat
on meat as this is desirable.
Heat half the butter in a heavy based pan and brown potatoes. Remove
and keep aside.
Add remaining butter and brown pork on each side, push to side of pan.
Trim and clean mushrooms and fry quickly in pan next to meat. Stir to
combine. Reduce heat to low.
Pour in wine, add salt and pepper to taste and place potatoes on top.
Sprinkle with coriander seeds, cover pan with lid and simmer over low
heat for 45 minutes or until pork and potatoes are tender.
Serve with a tossed green salad.

Dieting made easyOne useful tip is to drink plenty of water. From time to time at some stage in a hectic morning, you guess that you want a snack but in fact you might just need a refreshing glass of water or orange squash. The feelings of needing food and needing a drink are quite similar, but one of the two can lead to a broken diet and the other is ok.
Some lower carb diet guidlines:
* Use reduced carbohydrate chocolate bars for cookies and muffins. Once you have converted your best loved chocolate chip cookie or muffins recipe using soy flour, you dont want to add in those high carbohydrate full-sugar chocolate. Cut up a reduced carbohydrate choccie bar into small pieces and use that as an alternative.
* Use splenda instead of sugar. Many recipes that use sugar can be modified to make use of a sugar replacement instead. It doesn't weigh the same so you will need to do a bit of trial and error and it may not work for everything, but it gives pretty good results in most cases.
