2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
3 tbsp butter
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
Cook sugar, water, vinegar and butter without stirring, to hard-ball
stage. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and pour on buttered platter.
Let stand until cool enough to pull. This may be tinted with food
coloring.
