Golden Cake

 

Ingredients

2 cup cake flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
3/4 cup milk



 

Preparation

1. Sift toqether flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Cream shortening
until light and fluffy.Add sugar gradually to shortening and continue
to beat until mixture is light and fluffy. 3. Add vanilla and eggs to
sugar mixture. Beat till thoroughly combined. 4. Add dry ingredients
alternately with milk. 5. Allow batter to stand 10 to 15 minutes. 6.
Line 2 heat-resistant, non-metallic 8-inch round, baking dishes with
paper towels. 7. Pour 1/2 of the batter into each baking dish. 8.
Heat one layer at a time, uncovered, in Microwave Oven 6 minutes or
until toothpick comes out clean. 9. Allow to cool before removing
from dish. 10. Frost with Cocoa Frosting. (See recipe.)
