1 potato per person
1 1/2 oz smoked salmon per person
2 tbsp or 3 tb sour cream per person
1 a few tablespoons red or black cavi, ar per person

Recipe Preparation

Here's one from the British Consulate.

From Julia Burton, wife of British Consul General Graham Burton.

Wash the potato. Prick with a fork and rub with salt. Bake in a 350F
oven until potato is tender, about 1 hour. Cut in half and scoop out
the flesh without breaking the skin, leaving only a thin layer of
potato on the inside.

Chop the smoked salmon and divide between potato halves. Spoon in 2
or 3 tablespoons of sour cream and top with red or black caviar, or
some of each. Serve.

From the San Francisco Chronicle, 6/15/88.

Food Tips of the Week

Advice on losing weight

Make sure that you drink enough fluids. Sometimes at some stage in a hectic work day, you feel you need food when in truth you may need a refreshing glass of water or cranberry juice. The feelings of hunger and thirst are somewhat similar, but one of them ends in weight increase and the other one leads to no damage.
Some lower carb diet guidlines:
* Use reduced carbohydrate chocolate bars for cookies and muffins. Once you have converted your best loved chocolate chip cookie or muffins recipe using soy flour, you don’t want to add in those high carbohydrate full-sugar chocolate. Cut up a reduced carbohydrate choccie bar into small pieces and use that as an alternative.

* Use splenda instead of sugar. Many recipes that use sugar can be modified to make use of a sugar replacement instead. It doesn't weigh the same so you will need to do a bit of trial and error and it may not work for everything, but it gives pretty good results in most cases.

Flavonoid foods
(inlcudes onion, asparagus, soya and thyme)

The large family of compounds known as flavonoids discovered in these types of food are believed to have properties in helping to prevent cancer.
Nutritionalists looking into the properties of flavonoids think that they also have numerous health giving properties, amongst them, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory capabilities.
Most are also good for weight loss, so are ideal for including in your weight loss program.
