Recipe Ingredients

7 oz crabmeat
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp marjoram
1 dash garlic salt
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
3 tbsp onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup reduced-calorie mayonnaise
36 round crackers

Recipe Preparation

Drain the liquid from the crabmeat into a small microwave bowl or

With the microwave on HIGH, cook for 30 seconds. Stir and return to
the microwave for 30 more seconds if the mixture is not clear and
thickened. Allow to cool.

Flake the crabmeat. Combine the flaked crabmeat, celery, onion and
mayonnaise in a bowl. Stir in the crab liquid.

Divide the crabmeat mixture evenly between the 36 crackers. Place 12

Food Tips of the Week

Diet tips

At the start of a diet, people most certainly look at food store and big brand food items labelled 'low in fat'. To do this is far too often a miscalculation, in that an item could be significantly reduced in fats, but nevertheless elavated in calories and carbs.
The case against low carb diets
Its extremely popular, but it is truly safe for you?
Cutting out carbohydrates could mean missing out on required nutrients from healthy foods which must be part of any well adjusted diet, especially those obtained from vegetables, fruits and whole grains.
Eating more animal-based products may lead into high consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol, which some authorities believe will increase the risk of heart conditions.
Foods containing carotenes
(includes paprika, turnip greens and tomato puree)
These colorful plants have high levels of carotenes (alpha and beta) believed by scientists to play a role in helping stop cancer, spefically cancer of the lungs. The majority of these are also low in calories, so you should add them to your weight loss program.
